Answers to frequently asked questions

The following section provides answers to some of the questions we are frequently asked in connection with the CPS terminal – especially for the registration, delivery and collection of goods.

Is it necessary to create a reference number before delivering or collecting goods?

We require the lot number or customer reference for export shipments (unloading and loading).

We need the COU number for import consignments.

How and where is this reference created?

You can create the reference number on the following website.

Which other options are available to create a registration?

Simply write to our export staff. They will create a lot number for you. You will find contact details for our export staff at https://www.cpspacking.de/kontakt   

Which documents and information are required in which cases?

For advance notification of import consignments:

  • Date of delivery
  • License plate
  • A18
  • Exemption by email, letter or fax if applicable
  • NVO (A18 + NVO Shipment Release)

For advance notification of export consignments:

  • Date of delivery
  • License plate
  • Reference number with number of packages and weight
  • LOT number
  • DGD if applicable
  • T1 documents for non-EU goods


For hazardous goods consignments – export

  • DGD
  • Driver’s ADR certificate, depending on the consignment

For hazardous goods consignments – import

  • DGD
  • Driver’s ADR certificate, depending on the consignment
  • Route description for the driver/MSDS, if applicable

Who is the right person to contact in which cases for deliveries or collections?

What must drivers carry for ALL explicit cases as soon as they report for delivery or collection?

The driver must carry and present the following documents, papers and identification for loading or unloading:

  • Hazardous goods consignments for export: DGD
  • Loading of hazardous goods consignments for export: Transport documents; the driver’s ADR certificate is also required, depending on the consignment
  • Hazardous goods consignments for import collections: Transport documents; the driver’s ADR certificate is also required, depending on the consignment
  • Export T1 consignments: The driver must present the T1
  • Change in custodian for exports: The driver must present the custodian certificate

During which periods can consignments be delivered or collected?

We currently have no restrictions on deliveries or collections in place.

What are the opening times for deliveries and collections?

  • Export: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Import: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • The lifting point opens at 6:00am

Which procedures should drivers expect once clearance at the lifting point is complete?

Export:
Display the queue number in the window and wait on or at the ramp. The trucks are either unloaded by forklift or the drivers assist by unloading the goods themselves to the designated place.

Import:
Display the queue number in the window and wait on or at the ramp. Trucks are loaded by forklift. Goods are otherwise laid out for the driver to complete loading.

Side discharge:
Display the queue number in the window, and security or forklift operators pull the trucks from the side into the right position.

Which are the most common errors?

Export

  • Failure to observe the loading deadline
  • Driver fails to present the lot number
  • Incorrect lot number is presented
  • Driver is not carrying the right documents (e.g. DGD, T1)
  • T1 is no longer valid

Import

  • Driver is not carrying the A18
  • Reference is missing on the A18
  • A18 has been issued incorrectly
  • A18 is issued for several consignments
  • Consignment was not exempted
  • ATB was not completed before collection
  • Documents were not uploaded completely
  • Driver does not provide the PIN code
  • Other mandatory documents are missing, e.g. the transport document.
  • A DGD is NOT a transport document

Export collection:

  • A09 has been issued incorrectly
  • ATB for customs consignments to be collected has not been completed
  • Driver is not carrying a transport document or an ADR certificate when collecting hazardous goods.

During which times and on which days should increased traffic be expected?

Traffic is highest on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:
06:00 to 9:00 am and 12:00 to 2:30 pm
